Requirements
Minimum educational qualification: Senior Certificate (or equivalent) with Mathematics and/or Accountancy as a passed subject and/or Senior Certificate (or equivalent) with experience/competencies that focuses on the Key Performance Areas (KPA’s) of the post. Experience: Appropriate experience in Finance Department. Inherent requirements of the job: Willingness to rotate with the Finance Section and relieve colleagues. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Strong sense of confidentiality and trustworthiness. Good written and communication skills. Computer literacy (MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email). Relevant knowledge, skills, and experience in processes, procedures, prescripts and legislative framework, PFMA, NTR and PTI, and the Accounting Officer’s System of the Department of Health, including delegations. Knowledge and experience of LOGIS and BAS. In-depth knowledge of SCOA codes and reports on LOGIS and BAS. Knowledge and experience in Supplier Reconciliation. Working knowledge of ledger accounts and debt. Ability to analyse and provide solutions to problems. Good interpersonal and organisational skills.
Duties
Provide a financial administrative service and overall management of activities within the office. Effectively and efficiently monitored accounts for the department. Render an effective and efficient Sundry Creditors payment function. Render an effective capturing and pre-authorisation of payments on the Logis system. Maintain and capture inter-departmental claims. Capture credit notes and disallowances. Check and verify payment segments as listed in the SCOA list. IFS & AFS Financial Reporting. Support to State Accountant.
