Requirements
- Grade 12 - National Diploma in Traffic or National Diploma in Policing or Equivalent - Valid driving license Code B - 2 years’ relevant experience Communication Skills: - Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with the public and prepare reports. - Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations professionally.
Duties
- Enforce traffic regulations and ensure compliance with road safety laws. Monitring to traffic flow and direct vehicles when necessary. Responding to traffic accidents, emergencies, and incidents, providing first aid or support as required. Issuing traffic citations for violations such as speeding, reckless driving, and illegal parking. Assisting pedestrians and ensure their safety at crosswalks and busy intersections. Participating in joint operations with the Provincial Department and other stakeholder. Issuing of traffic tickets fines to traffic violating citizens. Monitoring speed limit as per the National Road Traffic Act using speed checking machine. Attending court cases as witness where summons were issued to traffic offenders. Collaborating with other law enforcement agencies and emergency services. Preparing and submitting detailed reports on traffic incidents and enforcement actions. Educating the public on traffic laws and safe driving practices.
