Requirements
A Degree or Advanced Diploma in Security Management or Policing at NQF7 level, or an equivalent qualification that aligns with the role’s required skills and competencies; 5 years' relevant experience within a security-related field; 3 years' experience in staff management in a security or policing-related field; PSIRA Registration: A valid and active PSIRA Grade A registration (proof must be attached to the application); An unendorsed valid Driver’s License (Code 8/EB), with at least 2 years of driving experience (proof must be attached) . Skills and Competencies Working knowledge in CCTV, Alarm Monitoring, Access Control and Electronic Incident Recording systems. First Aid, Fire Fighting, Emergency Building Evacuations, Good communication skills Operational management of site security. Dealing with employee/labour relations and disciplinary matters. Basic Occupational Health and Safety knowledge and identification of safety and security hazards. Computer literacy and must possess report writing and administration skills. Knowledge of managing Protest on Campus Conduction of Site Threat Risk Assessments Updating of Site Operational Procedures (SOP's) Application of SASRIA in terms of Event management Added Advantages Proven advanced Computer Literacy skills. Experience at tertiary institution. Experience in a Law Enforcement Agency. Candidates are required to attach proof of all relevant certified (not older than 3 months) documents to their application. Incomplete submissions will not be considered. It may be required of shortlisted candidates to complete a practical assessment.
Duties

Campus Protection Services seeks a suitably qualified and experienced energetic individual that will lead a team and coordinate campus protection at the university and enable positive change in teams and campus community behaviour. Reporting to the Manager: Campus Protection Services (CPS), the Coordinator Operations: Campus Protection Services is responsible for coordinating all security services that relate to the protection/safety of students, staff, guests and property. The role further requires providing security and safety/ response on institutional activities, events and any task given to you in line with the job function by the Security Manager: CPS . Responsibilities include: Planning, organising, controlling and monitoring resources and performance. Resource management and implementation of activities. Protection of students, staff, guests and property. Adapt protection services in alignment with university activities. Proactively identify potential and real risks of threats to safety of the campus community and guests and implement risk mitigation interventions. Perform continuous risk assessments of safety and appropriate response risk. Events Management and planning Compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Reporting to CPS Management. Implement policies and standard operating procedures or business processes that support health, safety and environment. Report writing to various constituents and institutional requirements. Accurate and timely recording of all incidences on the university system and the appropriate response and closing of incidences. Communication to relevant stakeholders. Implement various safety campaigns such as crime prevention, safety, etc. Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ensure Performance Development System implementation and activities related to the university's Integrated Talent Management Framework for CPS Supervisors
