    Requirements

    Master’s Degree: Environmental Health At least three years of teaching experience at post-school level or three years of industrial experience or a combination of 3 years of teaching and industrial experience. Candidates with at least one year’s teaching experience may be appointed as Junior Lecturers, with promotion upon meeting the required experience. Relevant tutoring or environmental health internship experience may also be considered Compulsory Professional registration with HPCSA Recommendations: A PhD or studying towards a PhD would be added advantage. Exposure and knowledge of the Environmental Health practice or research discipline. Knowledge in toxicology/environmental management/air quality and planning for build environment. Technical/ professional knowledge and skill Resource management People management including performance management Building strategic alliances and partnerships Management of complexity and ambiguity Action orientated Team player Facilitating change Good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to interact with multi- stakeholders relevant to the practice of Environmental Health. Ability to work with students. Knowledge of the Environmental Health accreditation requirements is essential and Skills in an academic environment and laboratory practice. ______________________________________________________________________

    Duties

    To lecture at all levels BSc in Environmental Health as assigned by the Head of Department. To perform duties of a Senior Lecturer as per MUT job description To exercise academic leadership in several subject areas with full accountability for planning and organizing, coordinating the efforts of colleagues to deliver programme objectives. To support the Head of Department and other programme leaders in the Department to manage the on-going strategic development of programmes in the department. To contribute to overall curriculum development and course design in specific area of curriculum. To be responsible for dealing with referred issues for students within own educational
