Senior Lecturer – Lecturer – Sociology Education

Interested applicants must meet the following requirements: Must have a Doctoral or Master’s degree in Sociology of Education. At least three (3) years of teaching experience in higher education particularly in Sociology of Education. Knowledge and understanding of the sociology. Experience in curriculum and materials development. Experience of online teaching and learning environments will be an advantage. Competence in communicating knowledge and facilitating teaching and learning. Ability to teach well at different academic levels, commensurate with the nature of the post applied for. Ability and willingness to participate in community engagement projects. Sound interpersonal skills, including a commitment to collegiality and equal opportunity. Demonstrated ability to undertake administrative responsibilities at departmental or institutional levels. Must have a valid driver’s licence. Core Functions Supervise postgraduate students and demonstrate the ability to publish articles in the accredited journals. Teach undergraduate and supervise postgraduate students. Compile teaching, learning and assessment materials. Supervise academic research projects/reports. Undertake teaching, research and administrative duties in the department. Implement departmental operational plans to achieve strategic objectives.
