    NORTH-WEST UNIVERSITY (MAHIKENG CAMPUS) FACULTY OF ECONOMIC AND MANAGEMENT SCIENCES VACANCY: POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW IN ACCOUNTING EDUCATION, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND STATISTICS EMPLOYMENT TYPE: FIXED-TERM APPOINTMENT

    Requirements

    PhD in Education, Accounting, Statistics and relevant focused areas mentioned above. PhD should be obtained within the last four years.Expertise in one or more of the focus areas, evidenced by research projects and publications.Strong research methodological skills in mixed method research especially quantitative research design.Strong statistical skills and quantitative research design.Fluent in written and spoken EnglishExcellent communication and teamwork skills.Collaborative mindset and able to work with more than one host supervisor.The successful candidate must be based in Mafikeng, South Africa.Inclusions:The stipend is per the university’s post-doctoral fellowship position scale (R320 000 pa, tax-free). The successful candidate will receive a dedicated office near the post-doctoral mentors and Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences staff members. The post-doctoral fellow's office will have all the amenities necessary for effective outputs. The fellowship is a full-time, three-year contract, for which annual renewal of the fellowship is subject to satisfactory progress.     Join a forward-thinking research team as a post-doctoral research fellow specialising in accounting education, Artificial Intelligence and statistical analysis at the NWU!Focus areas:Artificial intelligence in education (e.g. accounting education, AI literacy, AI ethics, AI-enabled assessment).Artificial intelligence in statistical analysisArtificial intelligence in teaching and learning in higher educationInnovative technology integration in teaching and learning.Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL).Digital transformation in higher education.Core responsibilities:Generate and execute novel research projects, including book publications in the mentioned focus areasPublish in high-ranked, impactful journals and present findings at conferencesCollaborate with faculty and industry partners on interdisciplinary initiativesMentor students and enrich the curriculum through guest lectures, workshops, and postgraduate supervisionMonitor journal and conference submissions in the above-mentioned focus areas.
