    Job Purpose

    To support and administer the enterprise virtualisation environment and associated infrastructure services within ICTS. The role is responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, scalability, and stability ofvirtualised server environments and supporting enterprise systems aligned to institutional operational and technology objectives.

    Requirements

    •  Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or in a related field •  Relevant VMware, virtualisation or infrastructure certifications will be advantageous •  At least four (4) years’ experience in VMware or enterprise virtualisation platforms •  Experience with enterprise server, storage and data centre environments •  Experience with high availability, clustering and performance optimisation •  Experience in the Higher Education environment will be advantageous Competencies •  VMware and virtualisation administration •  Linux and Windows server administration •  SAN and storage management understanding •  Infrastructure monitoring and optimisation •  High availability and clustering knowledge •  Enterprise backup and disaster recovery concepts •  Enterprise networking fundamentals •  Scripting and automation fundamentals •  Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills •  Disaster recovery and backup awareness •  Technical documentation skills •  Communication and interpersonal skills •  Ability to work under pressure and within a team
