Job Purpose
To support the development, integration and deployment of web, portal and integrated applications. The Junior Full-Stack Developer will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, secure and fully performing systems in compliance with SDLC principles and the University’s standards.

Requirements
• Relevant National Diploma, or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Computer Systems • At least two (2) years’ experience in software or web development • Experience with structured software development practices and coding standards • Experience with the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) • Working experience with PHP or Java • Good understanding of front-end technologies: HTML, CSS and JavaScript • Knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as MySQL, MSSQL or Oracle • Experience with Git/GitLab version control • Experience with CMS platforms such as Joomla, WordPress or Drupal • Basic understanding of RESTful APIs and web services • Understanding of SDLC and software testing principles • Experience with Linux environments, Bootstrap, Laravel or similar frameworks will be advantageous Competencies • Good programming and problem-solving skills • Good communication and interpersonal skills • Analytical thinking and attention to detail • Ability to work effectively within a team environment • Adaptability and ability to work under pressure • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies • Commitment to quality and continuous improvement
Duties
• Develop and maintain web, portal and integrated systems • Participate in debugging, testing and peer code review activities • Assist with system integration and troubleshooting • Participate in SDLC activities including testing, troubleshooting and deployments • Provide second-level system support • Develop and maintain technical and user documentation • Participate in innovation and continuous improvement initiatives • Collaborate effectively within development and support teams
