MANDATE OF THE INTEGRITY AND ETHICS MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE (IEMC):
To provide impartial oversight, guidance and subject-matter expertise on integrity, ethics and governance matters.
Provides independent, principled, and strategic oversight that strengthens the organisation’s ethical foundation, mitigates integrity risks, and ensures alignment with national governance expectations. Contributes to a culture where ethical conduct is embedded, misconduct is addressed decisively, and public confidence is reinforced.
INTEGRITY AND ETHICS MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEMBERS / ADVISORS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
· B degree in Forensic Investigations; Law; Accounting or Commerce with experience in investigations and ethics
· Ten (10) years post qualification experience and exposure in forensic investigations
· Working knowledge of the relevant legislation such as the PFMA, the Prevention of Combatting Corrupt Activities Act 12 of 2004, (PRECCA) and Protected Disclosures Act, 26 of 2000
· Critical thinking
· Communication skills (verbal and writing)
· Proven record problem solving skills
· Leadership skills, strategic thinker and conciliation skills
CORE COMPETENCIES:
· Ethical governance & integrity management
· Fraud prevention & anti?corruption controls
· Conflict of interest management
· Whistle?blowing systems & protected disclosures
· Risk?based ethics assessments
· Policy development & ethical standards
· Consequence management oversight
COMMITMENT TO MEETINGS:
The IEMC is required to meet at least 4 times a year and may hold other meetings as and when it becomes necessary.
