    Job Description

    The following skills,
    knowledge and attributes are required: Labour Relations Act, Disciplinary Code,
    Public Service Act, 1994 as amended by Act 30 of 2007, PFMA, Industrial Policy,
    Communication, Report Writing skills, Computer Literacy, Project Management,
    Financial management, Management and leadership skills, Planning and
    Organizing. Valid driver’s license is required. 

    Requirements

    National Senior Certificate
    plus a B Degree (NQF L7) in Human Resource Management /Labour Relations or
    equivalent qualifications. A minimum of 3 years’ relevant Labour Related
    experience, of which 3 years should be at Assistant Director level.

    Duties

     Manage, coordinate the provisioning and
    development of Labour Relations Policies and implementation of a departmental
    negotiation framework. Manage and coordinate the provisioning, of managing
    consultation services. Supervise the provisioning of grievances and disputes
    resolution processes. Supervise the provisioning of disciplinary processes. Supervise
    the allocated resources of the Sub-Directorate in line with legislative and
    departmental policy directives and ensure compliance with corporate governance and
    planning imperatives. Perform and manage administrative and related functions.

One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements, and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. Successful candidates will also be subjected to security clearance processes. Where applicable, candidates will be subjected to a skills/ knowledge test. All shortlisted candidates for SMS posts will be subjected to a technical exercise and interview. Following the technical exercise and interview, a maximum of three (3) SMS candidates will undergo psychometric assessments to assess cognitive capabilities, behavioural preferences, emotional intelligence, and integrity. Successful candidates will be appointed on a probation period of twelve 12/24 months.
