This position, based at the Head Office in Zwelitsha, falls within the School Health and Life Skills directorate and is dedicated to supporting the HIV & AIDS Life Skills Conditional Grant. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and efficient capture of data related to the recruitment and payment of beneficiaries contracted to work in schools and Circuit Management Centres, including Life Skills Assistants, their supervisors, and Social Work Graduates. The role is central to ensuring that stipend payments are processed correctly and that programme information is reliable for reporting and decision-making.
To be considered, applicants must hold a Grade 12 certificate; no prior work experience is required, making this an excellent entry-level opportunity. However, practical proficiency in the MS Office suite, particularly Excel and Word, will be a distinct advantage. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, a good understanding of the Public Service Legislative Framework, and competent knowledge of basic office administration are essential. Familiarity with procurement systems, the education sector, and competencies such as organisational skills, typing, minute taking, report writing, basic financial recording, and strong leadership abilities will further strengthen an application.
The core duties involve capturing data for processing recruitment and payment using spreadsheets, liaising with districts to obtain monthly reports from the various field workers, and ensuring that all information is captured, verified, and validated. The role requires checking data accuracy, resolving queries, and maintaining the secure safekeeping of documents such as signed confirmation lists and reports in line with standard archive procedures. The incumbent will also capture all School Health and Safety information on the applicable database, produce reports as required, and maintain a database of Peer Education Clubs, Soul Buddyz Clubs, partners, and other stakeholders. Additional responsibilities include liaising with School Admin Clerks to verify uploaded data on the SASAMS system, auditing health and safety learning materials, policies, and circulars, and conducting quarterly impact assessments of the programmes delivered by the field workers. The role concludes with the compilation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the province.
This is a Level 04 position with a competitive salary package. Applicants should note that the selection process includes a personnel suitability check covering criminal records, citizenship, financial assets, qualifications, and previous employment. Shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo pre-entry assessments, including a practical exercise and an integrity assessment, and may be subject to a skills or knowledge test. All shortlisted candidates must submit certified copies of their qualifications and other relevant documents before the interview. Correspondence is limited to shortlisted candidates, and if no contact is made within six months of the closing date, the application should be considered unsuccessful. Applications must be submitted electronically via the provincial e-recruitment system, and applicants should ensure their Z83 form and detailed CV are fully completed.
