Tshwane North TVET College is advertising fourteen permanent Data Capturer positions, distributed across its six campuses in Pretoria, Mamelodi, Rosslyn, Soshanguve South, Soshanguve North, and Temba. These roles are central to the college’s student administration function, ensuring that accurate and up-to-date student information is maintained within the institution’s official student records system. Data Capturers will work under the direction of the Head of Department and will be responsible for the reliable entry, verification, and management of student-related data, which supports academic decision-making, reporting, and compliance across faculties and divisions.
To be considered, applicants must hold a Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification, together with an appropriate National Diploma in Management Assistant, Office Administration, or a related field. In addition, candidates need at least eighteen months of practical experience in student administration. A sound working knowledge of computer hardware, software, and general office programs is essential, as is practical familiarity with the Adapt IT (ITS) system, which is the platform used by the college for student data management. These qualifications and competencies are necessary to perform the role effectively and to ensure data integrity throughout the student lifecycle.
The core duties of the position involve capturing students’ registration data into the ITS system from available records, as well as providing administrative support to the Head of Department by capturing student marks, weekly attendance, and other relevant academic information. Data Capturers must also verify and query any missing or erroneous data observed during entry, review and validate all data extracted from records, and submit completed data in a timely manner. Regular backups of data are required to prevent loss, and the role includes updating registers and statistics, maintaining orderly records and files, ensuring that records are properly sorted and securely stored, and providing information to faculties or divisions whenever requested. Attention to detail and a methodical approach are therefore critical.
The college has indicated that equity targets apply to these posts, with specific employment equity preferences for African, White, Coloured, and Indian candidates as per the stated categories, and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply. Shortlisted candidates will be subjected to a vetting process covering criminal records, citizenship, credit checks, and qualification verification. In addition, all shortlisted candidates will be required to undertake two pre-entry assessments: a practical exercise testing technical and generic suitability for the post, and an integrity assessment focusing on ethical conduct. The results of these assessments will be used as an additional criterion during the interview process. Applications must be submitted on the prescribed Z83 form, fully completed, and accompanied by a comprehensive curriculum vitae; only shortlisted candidates will need to submit certified copies of qualifications, academic records, identity documents, and driver’s licences. Correspondence will be limited to shortlisted candidates, and applicants who do not receive feedback within three months of the closing date should consider their applications unsuccessful. Each campus has its own reference number and dedicated application email address, and applicants must quote the relevant reference for the campus they are applying to. Late applications will not be accepted, and the college reserves the right not to make appointments. All costs incurred in relation to the application and interviews are for the candidate’s own account.
