It also provides secretariat functions at the college implementation committee and chairs the college’s PILIR committee to ensure incapacity matters are dealt with timeously. On the development side, the role manages bursary administration, internships and work integrated learning, induction and orientation programmes, training interventions, the Workplace Skills Plan, and the administration of the Performance Management and Development Systems and the Integrated Quality Management System.

Organisational development responsibilities include coordinating the design, review and implementation of the college’s organisational structure, facilitating the development of job descriptions, coordinating job evaluation of posts and submitting outcomes to head office, conducting work-study and business process re-engineering, and facilitating change management and organisational transformation. The Assistant Director will also coordinate human resource planning and employment equity services, assessing the college’s EE profile, ensuring targets are met, representing the college at DHET and regional EE forums, and tracking and reporting on EE milestones. The post further covers employee health and wellness, including wellness programmes, HIV, AIDS, STI and TB services, health productivity programmes, health and safety, and the promotion of sport activities. Finally, the role manages all resources of the unit, including allocating duties, quality control, staff leave, performance, conduct and discipline, training and development of supervisees, and developing efficient work systems and processes.

People with disabilities are encouraged to apply. Shortlisted candidates will be subjected to vetting, including criminal record, citizenship, credit record and qualification checks, and must complete two pre-entry assessments: a practical exercise to determine technical and generic suitability, and an integrity assessment. The college reserves the right not to make appointments, and all costs incurred due to application and interviews are for the candidate’s own account. If no response is received within three months of the closing date, applicants should consider their application unsuccessful.
