Provisioning Admin Clerk positions are available within the Supply Chain Management units of the Limpopo Department of Health, with five openings based at the Mopani District Office and four hospitals: Matlala, Dilokong, Siloam and Ellisras. The role is central to procurement and asset management operations, directly supporting health facilities by ensuring that suppliers are registered, quotations are obtained and orders are placed efficiently. Working under the guidance of supervisors, the post holder will contribute to the broader supply chain cycle, from the initiation of a purchase to the disposal of assets, always in line with the legislative frameworks that regulate South African public service procurement.
To qualify, candidates must hold a National Senior Certificate (Grade 12/Matric) plus an N6 qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Purchasing Management, Economics, Financial Management, or an equivalent qualification at NQF level 6 as recognised by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). Computer literacy in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and virtual meeting platforms is essential, as is a valid driver's licence, unless an applicant is disabled and therefore exempt. The department looks for individuals with a basic understanding of supply chain duties and practices, data-capturing skills, and the ability to work with statistics and standard office software. A working knowledge of public service legislation and operational procedures in a workplace environment is also required.
Main responsibilities include providing supply chain management clerical and logistical support across the unit. The successful candidate will register suppliers on the LOGIS system, request and receive quotations, capture specifications on the electronic purchasing system, place orders, and issue and receive bid documents. They will also give secretarial and logistical assistance during bid consideration and contract conclusion, ensuring that the process runs smoothly and that documentation is complete. In addition, the role encompasses asset and inventory management, including verification of assets, stock counts, barcoding, stock issues, spot checks and disposals. These duties require strong organisational skills, attention to detail and adherence to set deadlines.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend interviews and to produce certified copies of their qualifications, identity document and any relevant professional registration. All shortlisted candidates will undertake two pre-entry assessments: one practical exercise and one integrity or ethical conduct assessment, both of which are used as additional scoring criteria during the interview process. Foreign qualifications must be evaluated by SAQA and proof of evaluation submitted. Online applications must be accompanied by a fully completed and signed new Z83 form and a comprehensive CV, which serves as an extension of the application form. Applicants must complete the Z83 accurately, and any required information that is not included in the CV may lead to disqualification. It is advisable to carefully read the advertised conditions before applying, as non-compliance with the application requirements will result in the application not being considered.
