This position is for a Senior Provisioning Administration Officer responsible for the Head Office Stores within the Logistics component at the National Head Office of the Department of Correctional Services. The role sits within the broader supply chain management environment and focuses specifically on asset management, warehouse administration and the associated financial and logistical controls. The successful candidate will be expected to ensure that asset management policies are implemented effectively, that asset transfers are monitored and controlled, and that the warehouse for assets is administered in line with departmental prescripts. This is a supervisory role, so the officer will oversee asset verification, logistical processes, asset reconciliations and the disposal process for Head Office assets. The role also requires reconciling the BAS and LOGIS systems, facilitating logistical training on assets, and managing resources within the unit.

To be considered, applicants need an appropriate three-year National Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management or a relevant qualification, along with three to five years of functional experience in a supply chain management environment dealing with asset management. Practical knowledge of the LOGIS system and BAS is essential, as is computer literacy and a valid driver’s licence. The department is looking for someone who understands departmental and Public Service policies, the Public Finance Management Act, 1999, financial prescripts and Treasury regulations. Strong financial management skills, problem-solving and decision-making abilities, facilitation skills, and the capacity to plan, organise, lead and control are also required. The ideal candidate will have presentation, conflict management, training, communication and time management skills, and will demonstrate confidentiality, coaching and mentoring abilities, service delivery and client orientation, integrity and honesty, assertiveness, influence and impact, and the ability to network.

The main duties include implementing the asset management policy, monitoring and controlling the transfer of assets, managing the administration of the asset warehouse, supervising asset verification and logistical processes, managing the asset disposal process for Head Office, supervising the reconciliation between BAS and LOGIS, facilitating logistical training on assets, and managing resources. This is a demanding role that requires both strategic oversight and hands-on supervision, ensuring that all asset-related activities are compliant, accurate and well documented. The position is an appointment under the Public Service Act, and the successful candidate will be based at the National Head Office. This is an opportunity for an experienced supply chain management professional with strong asset management expertise to contribute to the effective governance and control of state assets within a public service environment.
