The Limpopo Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure is offering a Graduate Internship Programme for the 2027/2029 intake, with three positions available within its Properties and Facilities Unit based in Vhembe District. This 24-month fixed-term opportunity is aimed at unemployed South African graduates who need workplace experience and who have never participated in a Public Service Graduate Internship in any government department. Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend in accordance with the Department of Public Service and Administration’s directive on developmental programmes in the public service.

To be considered, applicants must hold a National Diploma or Degree in Property Management, Real Estate, or Property Law. They must also be in possession of a valid driver’s licence. The application process requires a fully completed Z83 application form (2021 version) and a comprehensive CV. When applying through the provincial e-recruitment system, applicants must attach copies of their qualifications, identity document, and driver’s licence; failure to do so will result in disqualification. Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit certified copies of their ID, Grade 12 certificate, and qualifications to Human Resources on or before the interview date. Applicants with foreign qualifications are responsible for having them evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).

The internship is designed to give graduates practical exposure to the work of the Properties and Facilities Unit. Interns will be placed within the unit and will support its day-to-day operations, which include the administration and management of departmental properties and facilities. In line with the required fields of study, interns can expect to be involved in property management tasks, real estate administration, and matters relating to property law. The programme provides an opportunity to develop technical and professional competencies while contributing to the department’s mandate of managing public infrastructure and property portfolios.

All shortlisted candidates will be subjected to a security clearance and verification of qualifications. They will also be required to undertake two pre-entry assessments: one practical exercise to determine suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements, and one integrity assessment focusing on ethical conduct. The recommended candidate will undergo a personnel suitability check. The department reserves the right not to make any appointment. Employment decisions will be informed by the department’s Employment Equity Plan, and the department is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer. Women and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

Correspondence will be limited to shortlisted candidates only. If applicants do not receive feedback within three months after the closing date, they should consider their application unsuccessful and may seek reasons for the decision in terms of the Promotion of Administrative Justice Act (PAJA), Act No. 3 of 2000. The department will not cover any costs related to transport, accommodation, or meals for candidates attending interviews. This internship is a valuable opportunity for graduates in property-related fields to gain meaningful public sector experience and contribute to the effective management of government properties in Limpopo.
