Maluti TVET College is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Facilitator to join its Kwetlisong Campus on a three-month contract, with the appointment being made by the college council. This role sits within the broader post-school education and training environment, specifically focusing on supporting students in technical and engineering subjects. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating learning in electronic and robotic engineering, playing a key part in delivering practical, career-oriented education. This is a temporary position designed to meet immediate teaching and facilitation needs, and it demands someone who is not only technically proficient but also capable of managing a classroom and guiding students through both theoretical and hands-on learning experiences.
To be considered for this facilitator post, applicants must have a National Senior Certificate or equivalent, alongside a National Diploma in Electronic Engineering or Robotic Engineering. Beyond the formal qualification, the college is looking for individuals who are registered as both an Assessor and a Moderator, and who hold SACE registration. Practical computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential, as is a valid unendorsed driver’s licence. Experience in facilitating skills programmes is also required, ensuring that the successful candidate can hit the ground running and deliver structured, competency-based training to students.
The core duties of this position are varied and revolve around the full teaching and assessment cycle. The facilitator will be expected to plan and organise lessons in the designated subject areas, deliver those lessons effectively, and provide clarity to students who may need additional support. A significant portion of the role involves conducting practical assessment tasks, which are vital in an engineering-focused curriculum, as well as invigilating examinations. Administrative responsibilities are also central to the role, including handling all student-related records, setting and marking assessment tasks, and processing marks accurately. The facilitator may be called upon to carry out any other duties reasonably related to the post, reflecting the dynamic nature of a TVET campus environment.
Applicants should be mindful of the college’s employment practices and expectations. This is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer, with preference given to candidates whose appointment advances representativity in terms of race, gender, and disability. People with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply. Shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo pre-entry assessments, including a practical exercise and an integrity assessment, and will be subjected to personnel suitability checks covering criminal records, citizenship, credit records, qualifications, and employment verification. Foreign qualifications must be accompanied by a SAQA evaluation report, and immigrants must arrange work permits before assuming duty. Successful candidates should also note that they may be required to work at other locations as reasonably determined by the college, and that the college reserves the right to withdraw the advertisement at any stage. As with any public service application, careful attention to the application instructions and deadlines is essential, and only shortlisted applicants will be contacted within sixty days of the closing date.
