Remuneration

Grade 1: R 229 440 - R 260 520 per annum, Grade 2: R 272 778 - R 310 890 per annum, Grade 3: R 319 071 - R 397 392 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).

Minimum educational qualification

Qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Staff Nurse.

Duties (key result areas/outputs)

Development and implementation of basic patient care. Provide basic clinical nursing care. Effective utilization of physical and financial resources. Maintain professional growth/ethical standards and self-development.

Experience

Grade 1: None. Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years appropriate / recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Staff Nurse with the SANC. Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years appropriate / recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Staff Nurse with the SANC.

Registration with a professional council

Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Staff Nurse.

Competencies (knowledge/skills)

Basic communication skills (both written and verbal). Ability to function as part of a team. Enhance patient care through the implementation of SOP’s, policies, and guidelines.

Inherent requirements of the job

Willingness to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, night duty and overtime when necessary. Willingness to rotate between wards within hospital.
