This role is responsible for managing the company's tax and to ensure that it complies with all tax related legislation and to draft tax related strategies and improvements. This position is also responsible to submit the different tax returns which includes but not limited to PAYE, Provisional Income Tax calculations and payments, VAT, IAS 12: Income Taxes. This position is also responsible to provide technical accounting support, including recommendation on improvement and the overall compliance with GRAP and IFRS. This role must have an advanced ability to analyse various accounting standards and guidance and to perform comprehensive write-ups and technical opinions on the compliance with GRAP. This position also needs provide training on a regular basis to Finance and Non-Financial staff on the compliance with GRAP. This includes development and updating of accounting policies, accounting manuals; preparation of GRAP and IFRS technical memos, development of GRAP, IFRS technical training material, providing technical accounting opinions as and when required.
Requirements
Required Qualification: Honours Degree in Accounting or Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting (CTA) at NQF Level 8. Certification: Tax practitioner will be an added advantage. Experience: A minimum of 5 - 6 years' experience in financial accounting/finance/audit with at least a minimum of 1 years' experience in working on the ERP system and Caseware/AFS reporting system. 3-year SAICA or related articles will be an added advantage. The candidate must show the following key knowledge and experience: Advance knowledge and experience of Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Advance knowledge and experience of Income Tax Act, VAT Act; PFMA and Treasury regulations and relevant instruction notes. Advance report writing and presentation skills and the ability to issue advances formal technical opinions on Accounting and Tax related matters. The candidate must have the ability to analyse voluminous technical material, drawing links between different various technical documents and come to accurate and defendable technical opinions Financial Accounting The process of recording, summarizing, and reporting the myriad of transactions resulting from business operations over a period of time.
