Garden Route District Municipality is situated in George and serves the people in the Southern Cape and Little Karoo. Impact and Influence, Team Orientation, Direction Setting and Coaching and Mentoring Duties: • Performing operational functions regarding the prevention of the outbreak or spreading of a fire, the fighting or extinguishing of a fire, the rescue of lives and rendering humanitarian services. • Performs testing, maintenance and cleaning functions on all emergency vehicles, equipment and station facilities at assigned geographical fire station as well as hydrants and hose reel, including marking of hydrants as allocated by the platoon commander. • Participate in continues training in fire suppression, prevention, and inspection through both simulated and on the job exercise. • Performs administrative duties to facilitate vehicle and equipment testing and maintenance. • Subject to level of driver/ operator competency, safety and effective drive and operate range of fire response apparatus used by the department as driver/ operator.
