Requirements
Abet level 2 certificate or equivalent. Competencies: Knowledge and understanding of the following: Farm infrastructure construction and maintenance; General maintenance of infrastructure; General Farmwork; Working with farm animals and pastures; Skills in the following: Communication (written and verbal); Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Ability to handle and carry weights of up to 50 kg; Numeracy; Literacy; Driving; Operating equipment.
Duties
Perform general activities in respect of crop production: Irrigation of crops, Soil cultivation and preparation (cleaning and hoeing); Perform general activities in respect of livestock: Care for sick livestock’s, dipping, vaccination and dosing; Perform general activities which would: Cleaning of facilities, disposal of farm waste material; Perform general activities in respect of infrastructure: Maintain and build roads, fences, pipelines, canals, dams, drinking troughs, animal housing; building; Maintain windmills and water supply system.
