Job Description
Strong
managerial skills: Planning, organizing, leading, and control. Excellent
communication (verbal and written), presentation, and facilitation skills.
Project and programme management skills. Problem-solving and analytical skills.
Computer literacy (advanced MS Office skills). Ability to work under pressure,
travel, and work irregular hours. A valid driver's license.

Grade
12 plus a recognised Bachelor’s Degree/National Diploma or equivalent
qualification (NQF 6) in Communications Marketing/ Public Relations/ Events
Management. A minimum of 3 years in communications environment.
Duties
Conduct
daily media monitoring and analysis and produce reports. Draft and disseminate
press releases. Write articles for publications and social media platforms.
Compile media coverage report after campaigns and events. Organise media
interviews. Invite various media houses and journalists to events. Consolidate
media attendance register after every event and update the media database.
Implement media plan for campaigns and events. Organize and facilitate monthly
editorial meetings. Increase social media engagements through social media
platforms. Plan, manage, and evaluate departmental strategic events in line
with internal policies and government protocols. Organise and mobilise all
relevant internal and external stakeholders for departmental activities and
advocate for the department's brand. Develop the annual events calendar and
associated procurement plans. Monitor and manage the budget and expenditure for
all events. Monitor and evaluate event outcomes and track progress of
stakeholder engagement. Provide written contributions to monthly, quarterly,
and annual departmental reports. Produce reports for events and outreach
programmes implemented. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislative and
regulatory frameworks.

Only shortlisted
candidates will be required to submit certified documents. Foreign
qualifications must be accompanied by an evaluation certificate from the South
African Qualification Authority (SAQA). Emailed applications will not be
considered. All shortlisted candidates, including the SMS, shall undertake two
pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine a
candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements
and the other will be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. Shortlisted
candidates will be required to be available for assessments and interviews at a
date and time to be determine by the Department. The first two recommended
candidates for Deputy Directors posts will be subjected to competency
assessment. All shortlisted
candidates for SMS posts will be subjected to a technical exercise and
interview. Following the technical
exercise and interview, a maximum of three (3) SMS candidates will undergo
psychometric assessments to assess cognitive capabilities, behavioral
preferences, emotional intelligence, and integrity.

be expected to enter into an employment contract and a performance agreement
within 3 months of appointment. Failure to comply with the above instructions
