    Requirements

    Matric, a 3-year National Diploma/Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering (NQF LEVEL 6/7) or relevant qualification in Engineering. Must be registered with ECSA. A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Civil Engineering or related engineering Field. Valid driver's licence. Conflict management skills Must be able to handle stressful circumstances. Good customer care skills Computer literacy (MS Office Applications). Good management, human relations, interpersonal and communication skills Analytical skills. High level of responsibility. Ability to give attention to detail. Excellent presentation and project management skills. Work after normal working hours, during emergencies and planned overtime. Ethical Conduct; and Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.

    Duties

    Identifies and defines the immediate and short team objectives/plans associated with road and storm-water maintenance in order to ensure critical performance indicators are identified and specific measures established to enable and guide the department to plan, manage and or prioritize outcomes accordingly. Responsible for proper departmental personnel Management. Prepares capital and operating estimates and controls expenditure against the approved budget allocations to contribute positively towards meeting maintenance objectives and sustaining the quality and standards of service delivery. Analysis , Monitors and evaluates progress with regards to repair, construction, installation and maintenance of urban, gravel road and installation of stormwater pipes. Perform administrative and related functions to compile and submit monthly and quarterly reports to provide input to the operational plan. Monitor and evaluate the performance and appraisal of the employees. To liaise with relevant board/ councils on engineering related matters. Attend audit queries and monitor compliance to audit corrective measures. Control the professional, technical and operational outcomes associated with the functions related to civil services construction or maintenance in order to ensure the activities, projects and assignments associated with the section are monitored deviations addressed and corrective measures introduced to curb non- conformance, poor quality and performance enabling the department to deliver in accordance with the laid down objectives, procedures and cost parameters NOTE: Qualification and SA citizenship checks will be conducted on all short-listed candidates. Security vetting will be done. Successful candidates will be subjected to additional checks.
