This role sits at the heart of the agency's financial operations, supporting the organisation's broader mandate of trade and investment promotion and local economic development for the region. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining sound financial administration and ensuring that the agency remains compliant with all relevant legislation and internal policies.

The core duties of the position involve preparing monthly financial reports and reconciliations, assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes, and compiling financial schedules and supporting documentation. The Finance Administrator will also assist in preparing departmental budgets, monitoring expenditure against approved budgets, and reporting budget variances to management. A key part of the role is ensuring compliance with financial policies, procedures, and legislation, as well as maintaining proper financial documentation for audit purposes. This requires a meticulous and organised approach, as well as the ability to work accurately under pressure.

To be considered for this position, applicants must hold a National Diploma in Financial Management, Accounting, Cost Accounting, or an equivalent relevant qualification, along with a minimum of one year's relevant experience in finance or accounting administration. A working knowledge of Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP) for the public sector is required, as is familiarity with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) or the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA). Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite is essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong competencies in financial administration, financial reporting, budget monitoring and control, accounts payable and receivable management, bank and account reconciliations, procurement and supply chain administration, record and document management, and compliance with financial policies and legislation.

This is a permanent vacancy, and the position is graded according to the agency's organisational structure. Enterprise iLembe is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to employment equity. Preference will be given to suitably qualified candidates in line with the Agency's Employment Equity Plan. Applicants who have not been contacted within three months of the closing date should consider their application unsuccessful. The agency also reserves the right not to make an appointment. Applications must be submitted with a detailed CV, certified copies of qualifications, a South African ID, and a driver's licence where applicable, with the application marked for the attention of HR. The closing date is in September 2026, and the salary package is advertised as an annual figure.
