Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 or Related Technical Qualification
- Trade Test Certificate – Plumbing
- Computer Literate (MS Office)
- Valid code B driver’s licence
- 5 or more years relevant experience in water and sanitation
- Good communication skills in two of the three official Western Cape languages
Duties:
- Preparation of the monthly reports
- Checks, evaluate and verifies overtime, time sheet and logbooks
- Compiles standby rosters
- Responsible for discipline of subordinates and institutes disciplinary actions and perform duties of the presiding officer
- Controls and co-ordinates all vehicles, plant and equipment in the section and their service schedules
- Responsible for the requisition of materials
- Responsible for all the safety requirements in the section including, working permits and method statements
- Implement, oversee and monitoring of maintenance schedules of the water and sewerage systems in the area
- Oversees and plan the construction of water and sewer connections, new pipelines and shut down of systems for upgrading or maintenance
- Responsible for monitoring leave and absence records and approves all leave up to two post levels under superintendent level
- Presents budgets requirement in terms of infrastructure, material, plant and personnel
- Direct day to day on-site supervision of labour force including assistant, foreman, subcontractors and other construction related personnel
- Inspection of contractor or (sub) contract operations to ensure compliance with contract
- Maintain good relationship with internal and external clients including Engineering and partners
- Reports on all vandalism and theft incidents to the Health & Safety and Insurance sections
- Maintenance and preventative maintenance schedules
- Implement new water and sewer infrastructure upgrades, manage or control reservoirs
- Compilation of specifications for RFQ’s
