Have no criminal record and must be a South African citizen or permanent resident in the Republic. Skills Required A candidate must be skilled in communication (both verbal and written); decision making and presentation as well as proficient in computer application software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, MS Teams, etc.). Responsibilities The rendering of operational legal support in research and contract management; Effective, efficient and economical handling of litigation; Investigation of civil claims and assessment of the merits of civil claims; Drafting opinions/instructions on behalf of the State Attorney to defend; Drafting of settlement proposals; Consultation with public officials and accompanying members to court; Legal administration and court services; Consultation with State Attorney; Provide legal advice on governance, policy and legislation management; and Provide legal support to resource management capacities within the State Attorney office. Graduates will serve their articles as Candidate Attorneys and register with the Legal Practice Council.
