    PL1 LECTURER: (NCV) LIFE SKILLS, COMPUTER LITERACY & ENGLISH FAL

    Requirements: Grade 12/NCV level 4 or equivalent, plus an appropriate three years Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Life Orientation or Computer Practice or Information Processing (NQF 6). One-year work experience in the field of teaching/lecturing. Sound subject knowledge and work related applications. Computer literacy and ability to work under pressure is necessary. Excellent communication in English (written and verbal), organizing, planning and administration skills. Ability to plan and deliver lessons. Ability to relate to students in a professional manner and to promote a conducive teaching and learning environment, SACE registration, computer literacy. A valid driver's license would be an added advantage.

    Duties: Prepare lesson plans and lecture students in compliance with College Annual Academic plan, the timetable and the College Quality Management System. Must be able teach Life Skills and Computer Literacy Level 2-4 and English FAL L2-L4. Set and moderate assessments (Pre and Post moderation). Must be able to prepare files (POA, POE and Subject File). Assess students, maintain assessment records and capture marks electronically in compliance with the College policies and procedures. Monitor students' performance and provide critical feedback in an objective and professional manner. Create a conducive classroom environment and ensure efficient classroom management and discipline of students. Report to the Senior Lecturer and liaise with the Student Support Services.
