SALARY SCALE : R337, 622.00 – R438, 266.00 PER ANNUM (PLUS BENEFITS)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Matric.
- National Diploma: Geographical Information System or relevant qualification at NQF level 6.
- At least 3 years work – related experience in Geographical Information Systems.
- Valid registration as a Geomatics technologist will be an added advantage.
- Valid Drivers License

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS ( Include but not limited to):
- Installs and monitors system – level security structures and protocols and ensures disaster response and recovery processes and procedures are followed.
- Collect, organize, and maintain geospatial data, including maps, satellite imagery, and survey data.
- Update municipal GIS systems with new data from surveys, developments, or public infrastructure projects.
- Create detailed maps for various municipal purposes, such as land use planning, zoning, and transportation networks.
- Conduct spatial analysis to provide insights for infrastructure development, environmental management to disaster planning.
- Assist urban planners and engineers in designing infrastructure projects like roads,water systems, and utilities.
- Analyze spatial data to identify optimal location for new developments or services.
- Collaborate with departments such as public works, emergency services, and environmental management to provide geospatial solutions.

• Integrate GIS data with other systems, such as asset management or financial
systems, for comprehensive planning.
• Ensure GIS data complies with municipal, regional, or national regulations.
• Generate reports based on GIS analysis for internal and external use, such as
environmental impact or demographic studies.
