KHAI-MA LOCAL MUNICIPALITY VACANCY LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER Khai-Ma Municipality (Head Office in Pofadder) in the Namakwa District in the Northern Cape Province is an affirmative action Employer. In terms of Sections 55(1) (e) and 67(1) (a) of the Municipal Systems Act, 2000, Act No, 32 of 2000, applications are awaited from persons to be appointed in the above-mentioned position at the Municipality. REQUIREMENTS ? Law Enforcement Certificate (NQF Level 5) ? Grade 12 and Diploma in Traffic Management issued in terms of the National Road Traffic Act, 13 of 1996, applicable to Grade L Officers ? A Valid driver’s licence ? Computer Literate ? No criminal record ? Candidates must have a minimum of 12-18 months experience ? Proficiency in Afrikaans and English ? Possess an own Vehicle KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Monitors the municipal area and attends to specific security operations and acts on situations/behaviour deemed to be inappropriate or non-confirming ? Enforces municipal by-laws, appropriate legislation (illegal squatting, water restriction control, public nuisances, keeping of animals, informal trading, advertising regulations, etc.) conditional approvals, road traffic and safety regulations ? Co-ordinates specific activities associated with controlling traffic flow and public safety ? Undertakes specific activities during disasters/emergency and/or establishes and communicates potential risk and hazard situations ? Completes specific reports, statutory documentation and registers and performs specific tasks ? Attends to the application of specific maintenance sequences with respect to equipment and vehicle ? Assist with activities to enhance service delivery in general ? Any other related duty as requested by the Municipal Manager.
