    HESSEQUA MUNICIPALITY The Hessequa Municipality requires the services of a suitable person in the following permanent vacancy: Environmental Officer – Riversdale (Ref: B004) T11 – R373 129 to R484 357 gross salary per annum Requirements: B-Tech degree in Environmental Science or Geography or an equivalent qualification • Valid Code EB driving license • Computer literate • Proficiency in at least two of the official languages of the Western Cape • No criminal record • Category R Skipper’s license, will serve as recommendation • Two to five years’ relevant experience required which includes one year of supervisory experience. Duties: Conduct site inspections • Asset Management • Assist with the implementation of the Municipal Nature Reserve Management Plan • Maintain access roads, patrol roads as well as hiking trails • Assist with the procurement of materials • Monitor the condition of signage • Compile inventory lists • Coordinate the excavation of holes, planting of holes and wiring • Estuary and Coastal Management • Dune Rehabilitation • Assist and contribute to Environmental Education and Awareness Initiatives • Supervision • Attend meetings • Ensure that Health and Safety legislation and policies are adhered to • Ensure the maintenance of the Tuin-op-die-Brak • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders • Handle enquiries.
